Sensory Perception
- Has a lot to do with Identifying and characterizing”facts” in the social
data set.
- Practically everything that people do as outcome of the interaction
with other people within a given social context is considered a “Social
fact”.
- This facts should from the beginning, be able to reveal themselves
through the sensory faculties of the one doing the obsevation.
- He/she must see, hear, feel, taste,or touch reality.
- These facts reveal the underlying structures and institution of their
lives: religion, economy. Kinship, laws, governance, tradition, languege,
etc.
- If you look closely,, each of those underlying facets of culture
corresponds to a social science desipline speciallzing on that respect
- To capture this elusive, subjective, and usually, covert nature of social
phenomena, certain methodological are employed
