Frederick Winslow Taylor

F.W. Taylor was an American mechanical engineer whose main


goal was to improve industrial efficiency . He summarized his
efficiency techniques in his book “ The Principles of Scientific
Management “ . Thus F.W. Taylor is regarded as the “ Father of
Scientific Management “ .

Taylor’s Scientific Management formed the foundation which aims at
increasing efficiency in the workers operations through the
application of scientific means and systematic analysis . His principles
are followed even today in many factories by various managers in
order to increase efficiency .
For example – Toyota applied Taylor’s scientific management
principles which helped to produce quality products and at the same
time increasing the efficiency of workers . Scientific management
brought a revolution to management systems which have evolved
with time to accommodate new ideas and other changing variables
at the workplace .
