WHAT IS SIMPLE PAST TENSE

Simple past tense is the sentence tenses that we can use


to tell what is happend in the past.The different between
past countinous tense its,past countinous tense its telling
about what happend in the past and still happend in the
present
EXAMPLE OF SIMPLE PAST TENSE

1.Positive sentence
Subject + verb 2 + complement
Ex : Abdul went to Bali for holiday last sunday
2. Negative sentence
Subject + did+not + verb 1 + complement / Subject + to be (Was/Were)+ not
Ex: I did not sleep well last night /
Ex: Arif was not the smart students in the class
3. Interogative sentence
Did + Subject + verb 1 + complement / Was/Were + subject
Ex: Did you sleep enough last night ?
Ex: Were you late to come to the office at 11 am yesterday ?
REGULAR VERB
1. Positif sentence
Subject + verb + ed
Ex :
She finished her work at 9 o’clock

2. Negatif sentence
Subject + did + not + complement
REGULAR VERB
She did not finish her work 9 o’clock

3. Interogative sentence
Did + subject + Complement
Ex :
Did she finish her work at 9 o’clock
IRREGULAR VERB

1. Positif sentence
Subject + verb 2 + complement
Ex :
We gave her a beautiful birthday cake for her party
IRREGULAR VERB
2.Negative sentence
subject + did + not + complement
Ex :
We did not give her a beautiful cake for her party

3.Interogative sentence
Did + subject + complement
Ex :
Did we give her a beautiful cake for her birthday ?
