    unload cargo.

     Port - used mainly for marine trading. It has
    berthing facilities, loading & unloading
    facilities, and repair facilities, too, with the
    requisite power and transportation available.
    Well developed ports will have recreational
    facility for crew, too.

     Harbour - used as a parking space or a


    storage space for ships.

    A natural harbor is a landform where a part of
    a body of water is protected and deep enough
    to furnish anchorage.

     Artificial harbours are build to frequently use
    as ports.
     Jebel Ali (UAE) is the largest manmade
    harbour.Others are Rotterdam, Houston ,
    Longbeach.

    A port which is situated inland along a river.
     For eg. Haldia Port in Hoogli River

     The tidal ports are the ports in which the
    water levels within the port are subject to
    change with the ocean tides. Tidal ports are
    almost always in coastal regions.

     Also called as Dry Port.

     Itis an inland intermodal terminal directly


    connected by road or rail to a seaport and
    operating as a center for the transshipment
    of sea cargo to inland destinations.

     Eg. Delhi in India

     Also called as Transshipment port.
     a port where merchandise can be imported
    and then exported without paying import
    duties. Eg. Singapore , Dubai (UAE)
