OSC&VAS

• OSC & VAS system contains 3 independets

subsystems OCS, CRBT and iVAS.

• The OSC system includes OCU and SCU.

• iVAS provide a share platform for SMSC, VMS, WAP

& MMSC and USSD services.
OCS
• OSC - Online Charging System
• This system is used for billing (prepaid and postpaid)
• The nature of OCS is to separate service control and
billing control, and provide uniform
data/voice/content/event online charging
platform and uniform subscriber data for both
postpaid and prepaid subscribers.
• Online Charging Unit (OCU)
OCU consists of charging module, rating module, and account
management module. It realizes online charging function when
cooperating with other elements such as SCU, CCG, and other
service platforms. The hot billing system can be integrated into
OCU or separated.
• Service Control Unit (SCU)
SCU consists of Service Control Processor (SCP), Signaling
Interface Unit (SIU), Intelligent Peripheral (IP), and Voucher Center
(VC). It provides the service logic program required for service
control as well as service data required for processing service and
serves as a charging trigger point in online charging system.
• Intelligent Peripheral (IP)
Intelligent Peripheral provides voice resource function and
supports information exchange between users and networks.
• Voucher Center (VC)
Voucher Center provides service logic program in respect of
recharging functions and creates and stores voucher data.
Subscribers can refill their accounts by all means enabled by VC.
• Diameter CC
Diameter CC is the real-time charging protocol between OCU
and SCU/CCG/other service platform.
CRBT
• CRBT – Color Ring Back Tone.
• CRBT service replaces the dull “du du” with
dynamic music/video clips and targets at the youth
market and the company market.
• ZTE provides CRBT solution for all kinds of networks
such as PSTN/NGN/GSM/CDMA/WCDMA/LTE etc,
and the unified solution supports any combination
of the listed network
iVAS
• iVAS – Integrated Value Added Service
• ZTE takes the lead of VAS industry in putting forward
the integrated VAS concept - iVAS - which aims to
provide multiple services through one truly-
integrated platform and to combine their common
functions into a common public unit. The
revolutionary iVAS platform provides mobile
operators with a rich portfolio including SMS (Short
Message), MMS (Multimedia Message), WAP
GW/ISG (Integrated Service Gateway), VMS (Voice
Mail), USSD, SMS Anti-spam and IMGW (Integrated
Message Gateway).
CRBT IP Addresses
Assignment
• In the CRBT system, 5 VLANs will be used in the
internal service and 3 VLANs for interconnection
with Viettel Peru Network.

• Media VLAN is used for the RTP media flow to CS

MGW.
• Sigtran VLAN is used for sigtran connection
between SIU and core network.
• Service VLAN is for the CRBT processing
servers.
• DCN service is for the CDR and EMS servers
that will correspond with the charging or NMS
server in DCN network.
• OAM VLAN is for the CRBT internal maintance
VLAN, such a disk array management, switch
management, SIU OAM server and MS100
OAM server.
• DCN external is for interconnection with DCN
network
• MPBN external is for interconnection with
MPBN network
• OPBN external is for interconnection with IPBN
network.

Assignment
• In the iVAS system, 6 VLANs will ben used in the
internall service and 3 VLANs for interconnection
with Viettel Peru.

• Media VLAN is used for the RTP media flow to CS

MGW
• Sigtran VLAN is used for sigtran connection
between SIU and Core Network
• iVAS Unipart VLAN is for the iVASj uniplatform
processing servers
• iVASn service VLAN is for the iVAS service processing
servers, such as smsc, wapgw, mmsc and vms.
• DCN service is for the CDR and EMS servers taht will
correspond with the charging or NMS servers
directly in DCN network
• OAM VLAN is for the iVAS internal maintance VLAN,
such as disk array management, SIU OAM server
and MS100 OAM server
• DCN external is for interconnection with DCN
network
• MPBN external is for interconnection with MPBN

SCU IP Address Assignment
• In the SCU system, 6 VLAN will be used in the
internall service and 3 VLANs for interconnection
with Viettel Peru network.

• Media VLAN is used for the RTP media flow to CS

MGW
• Sigtran1 VLAN is usedn for sigtran connection
between SIU and core network
• Sigtran2 VLAN is the second sigtran connection
between SIU and core network, because sigtran
flow is required to be in separeted VLAN to avoid
the confliction
• SCU service VLAN is for the SCU service processing
servers , such as SCP and SMP
• DCN service is for the CDR and EMS servers that will
correspond with the charging or NMS servers in DCN
network
• OAM VLAN is for the SCU internal maintance VLAN, such
as disk array management, switch management , SIU
OAM server and MS100 server
• DCN external is for interconnection with DCN network
• MPBN external is for interconnection with MPBN network
• SCU2OCU external is for inetrconnection between SCU
and OCU, because the switch of SCU system has no
optical interface and the electrical interface is not
enough for all the servers, so the external connection to
Viettel Peru will go through the OCU switch, also the
OCU switch will share its ports to SCU for sigtran and
media flow
