290 on the list. It had a market value of $31.82 billion.
• Other Singapore companies include Wilmar International at no. 314
(S$14.93 billion), DBS Group at no. 337 (S$14.53 billion), United Overseas
Bank at no. 392 (S$12.37 billion) and Singapore Airlines at no. 454 (S$9.78
billion).
• Oversea-Chinese Banking, Keppel, CapitaLand, Flextronics Intl, SembCorp
Industries, Singapore Technologies, City Developments, Golden Agri-
Resources, Fraser & Neave, Singapore Exchange were also on the list.

important warning about the dangers of youth and graduate
unemployment. First came the Tunisian time-bomb, then Egypt and

• Schumpeter defined entrepreneurs as innovators who

entrepreneurial change has 5 manifestations:
• 1) the introduction of a new (or improved) good;
• 2) the introduction of a new method of production;
• 3) the opening of a new market;
• 4) the exploitation of a new source of supply; and
• 5) the re-engineering/organization of business
management processes. Schumpeter‟s definition
therefore equates entrepreneurship with innovation in
the business sense; that is identifying market
opportunities and using innovative approaches to exploit
them.
