    Classroom News

    What We Will Learn:


    This week we will continue our work with this unit’s Essential Question - “What can
    we learn from a mistake? Our phonics skill for the week will be long a vowel teams
    ai and ay. This combination of vowels works as a team to make the long a sound.

    We will be continuing our work with Math Module 2 this week which involves
    different strategies for subtracting from teen numbers. We will be working with our
    new unit in Writer’s Workshop, where we will be writing reviews of various things,
    such as collections, restaurants, and movies.

    Homework:
    Tuesday: Home Reading and Module 2, Lesson 23, p. 257 & 258.
    Wednesday: Home Reading and Module 2, Lesson 24, p. 261 & 262.
    Thursday: Home Reading and Module 2, Lesson 25, p. 265 & 266.
    Friday: Home Reading only 

    Donations:
    For a fun St. Patrick’s Day
    activity, I will be collecting
    Important Dates: empty boxes and paper
    Feb. 18th – No School towel or toilet paper rolls. If
    Feb. 20th – Family Fun night at you could help out by
    Presto Pasta and Urbane Café sending these items in as
    Feb. 22nd – Crazy Hair Day you accumulate them, I’d
    greatly appreciate it. 
