EVALUATION AND

DESIGN OF SEWAGE
TREATMENT PLANT IN
DHVTSU (MAIN
CAMPUS)
INTRODUCTION
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

• Primary treatment of current septic tank

system

• Outlets of septic tanks are directed to

drainage

• Unsealed bottom of tanks

OBJECTIVES
MAIN OBJECTIVE

- design the sewage treatment plant

of Don Honorio Ventura
Technological State University (Main
Campus).
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
• To determine the wastewater quality of the
university if it complies with the DENR DAO 16-08.

• To compute for the wastewater volume generated by

the university.

• To design the sewerage pipe system that will

transport the wastewater into the treatment facility.

• To design the tanks that will carry the wastewater to

be treated as well as the electromechanical process.
SIGNIFICANCE OF
THE STUDY
• For improvement of sewage disposal of the
university.

• To allow the school to reuse the treated water.

• To help the school to safely discharge its

wastewater with the standard quality to a
receiving body.

• For future researchers to improve or discover

new technology to be used for sewage
treatment.
SCOPE AND
DELIMITATION
• Population of DHVTSU and equivalent
wastewater generation

• Proposed location

• Focuses on the domestic sewage generated

by the entire university

• Water Quality Sampling/Testing

- DAO 2016-08

• Design of sewerage pipe system

• SBR was the method used

• Assumed septic tanks are completely sealed at

the bottom

• Land Surveying was also conducted to

determine the elevation of the possible route
of the sewerage system of the facility.

• Does not include electrical and mechanical

processes
