SUMMARY PROJECT PLAN
ORGANIZING THE PROJECT TEAM

• The project team maybe just one consultant or may consist of several persons.
The project leader should decide in the assignment of task

The briefing should discuss the following


• responsibility for clerical actions
• responsibility for travel arrangement
• working space in the client’s office
• working hours to be observed
• Unusual aspects of working with a particular client
• Project progress reporting
• Project strategy
PROJECT SCHEDULE
Once the overall project plan has been completed, schedules and target completion
dates should be prepared for each person assigned to the project.
PROJECT CONTROL

• A project plan can be graphically presented using two of


the most common tools;
• (a) Gantt Chart
• (b) PERT Diagram ( Project evaluation and Review
Techniques
Gantt Chart
The horizontal axis shows elapsed time required to complete activities and task that are
listed vertically.
PERT Diagram
• This outlines activities and time estimates for completing activities. The PERT-
Critical Path Method (CPM) allows the consultant to chart activities using earliest
and latest start and completion dates to predict overall project completion date
DOCUMENTATION POLICIES AND
GUIDELINES

• Ensure the events and agreements affecting the project affecting


the project findings and conclusions are properly documented and
filed.
• A comprehensive approach to documentation collection should
include some variation of the file categories and source documents
described in the work paper section
