7 Grade Spelling Bee
Competition
 Spelling Bee Procedure

1. Participants will be provided with board and chalk during this

contest.

2. There will be three sub rounds: easy, average and difficult.

3. There will be 10 words to be given for each sub rounds by the Bee
Master.
 Spelling Bee Procedure
4. The Bee Master will pronounce each word twice and give an aid to
word identification. Countdown will start after the word has been
pronounced the second time by the Bee Master.

5. Contestants will be given a maximum of 20 seconds to

simultaneously write the word on the writing sheet provided.

6. Should a participant wish to change the spelling that he/she has

written down, the first one should be crossed out with one horizontal
line and the new and final spelling, be written clearly above the
crossed-out word. A participant is allowed to change his/her answer
within the time allotted for a particular word
For the Easy round, one correctly spelled word is equivalent to 1
point.
For the Average round, one correctly spelled word is equivalent
to 3 points.
For the Difficult round, one correctly spelled word is equivalent to
5 points.
-5 points and above will proceed to the Average round.
Top 3 highest scores from the average round will proceed to the
Difficult round.
The group of students with the highest scores accumulated
from the easy, average, and difficult rounds will be proclaim as
the winner.

In case of a tie, the bee master will proceed to the clincher

round wherein another word will be asked. The first group
who answered correctly will be declared as the winner.
