ASSUMTIONS
 SET – I

Most people are good people, they can do better.

Most people already know what to do, but they are

not doing.

What is MISSING?
ASSUMTIONS
 SET – II

Whenever a person enters into a organization, he

can think of two levels of performance:

 The minimum he can get away with.

 The maximum he is capable of doing.

What is the DIFFERENCE?

The only answer to both of the assumptions is:

MOTIVATION

But what this Motivation is.............?

Motivation is derived from the word 'MOTIVE'

MOTIVE is defined as something as a need or

desire that impels or initiates a person to certain
action or behavior.

&

MOTIVATION is a word used to refer to the reason

or reasons for engaging in a particular behavior.

PERFORMANCE = SKILL * WILL

Types of Motivation

Internal Motivation External Motivation

Self Motivation
 Negative Motivation

Positive Motivation

Fear Motivation
Advantages:

 It gets the job done quickly.

 It prevents loss by meeting deadlines.
 In the short run, performance may improve.
Fear Motivation
Disadvantages:

• It is external. When the motivator goes, the

motivation also goes.
• It causes stress.
• Performance is limited only to compliance.
• It destroys creativity.
• When people get used to stick then they need a
bigger stick.
Thought Triggers
•We cannot motivate anybody else but only inspire him to motivate
himself.
•To inspire someone we must understand his ambitions, values &
needs.
•People get motivated by those who they hold in high esteem &
trustworthy.
•It is easier to punish than to understand, empathize & motivate.
•People at the top don’t walk their talk.
•No one motivated me so why should I motivate others.

•We fear motivating others lest they become more successful than us.
How to Motivate Your Team

•Build a family culture rather than creating compartments.

PEOPLE POWER PHILOSPHY

LET’S LOVE PEOPLE

And use material things instead of loving
material things and using people.
If you want happiness for a day, Go on a picnic
For a week, Take a vacation
For a month, Get Married
For a year, Inherit wealth
For a life time, learn to love what you do.

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside,
just before putting it into the box.

"There are 5 things you need to know," he told

the pencil, "Before I send you out into the
world. Always remember them and never
forget, and you will become the best pencil
you can be."
"One: You will be able to do many great
things, but only if you allow yourself to be
held in Someone's hand."

"Two:You will experience a painful

sharpening from time to time, but you'll need
it to become a better pencil."
"Three: You will be able to correct any
mistakes you might make."

"Four: The most important part of you will

always be what's inside."

"And Five: On every surface you are used on,

you must leave your mark. No matter what
the condition, you must continue to write."
Now replacing the place of the pencil with
you. Always remember them and never
forget, and you will become the best person
you can be. .

One: You will be able to do many great

things, but only if you allow yourself to be
held in God's hand. And allow other human
beings to access you for the many gifts you
possess
Two: You will experience a painful
sharpening from time to time, by going
through various problems in life, but you'll
need it to become a stronger person.

Three: You will be able to correct any

mistakes you might make.

Four: The most important part of you will

always be what's on the inside.
And Five: On every surface you walk
through, you must leave your mark. No
matter what the situation, you must
continue to do your duties.

Allow this parable of the pencil to

encourage you to know that you are a
special person and only you can fulfill the
purpose to which you were born to
accomplish. Never allow yourself to get
discouraged and think that your life is
insignificant and cannot make a change.
