This study investigated using sorbitol or glycerol addition to improve succinate production by Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC1302 through ATP-based regulation of glucose metabolism. Two methods of addition were tested: 1) co-feeding sorbitol or glycerol with glucose at a 1:5 ratio, and 2) adding 5-15 g/L sorbitol or glycerol to the initial media before inoculation with glucose feeding below 20 g/L. Both methods improved succinate production compared to normal batch fermentation, with method 1 resulting in higher succinate yields. The results suggest sorbitol and glycerol addition enhanced succinate production by regulating glucose metabolism through ATP supply
