SAFE(JDE) = + + +
Freeze Fence and LeadTime Level should always have the same value.
Examples:
For a product with true Lead Time of 25 days planned on Tuesdays, Freeze Fence and LeadTime Level will be:
• If planned by forecast (H): 30 (28 + 2)
• If planned by target (G): 25
• If planned as Make to Order (C): 39 (25 + 14)
*The use of the above complex calculation for H codes is suggested to avoid having more than one planning message within the same week.
Using the true lead time will still generate accurate messages but split in different start dates within the same week.
Planning Fence Rule &
Planning Fence days
(also known as Time Fence Rule)
Both work together to determine which orders and which forecast are “seen” by DRP when
calculating planning messages.

These parameters will constrain the purchase quantities (in EA) DRP will suggest
on each planning message.
Please note these do NOT affect any order manually generated, or messages
that are modified after DRP generated them.
Examples:
A product that comes in boxes of 5 should have Multiple=5 to ensure planning messages are always
generated in multiples of 5 EA.
A product that ships by itself can be set-up with a minimum order quantity to ensure each purchase
suggested by DRP is cost effective.
