Explaining the ‘linguistic errors’:

• 2ain´t = haven´t (here)

• it can also mean isn´t/aren´t/hasn’t

• 3the both= according to Michael Swan we

can´t use THE before both.

• 4it don´t = it doesn´t
 What each stanza is about.
• I - She calls him up and leaves a message:
she´d like to meet him and tells him that time
has passed but she hasn´t been able to get
over him.
• II – She calls him again and says she´s far away
dreaming about their past together.
• III – She´s sorry about having done something
wrong but he doesn´t seem to want to talk to
her.
• IV – She wants to know if he´s moved out of
his small town and repeats she´s sorry.
• V - She keeps on calling but says that their
time is coming to an end. Apparently, he´ll
never answer the phone.
