Abstract
• A simple and efficient solar photovoltaic (PV) water pumping system utilizing an
induction motor drive (IMD) is presented in this paper. This solar PV water
pumping system comprises of two stages of power conversion. The first stage
extracts the maximum power from a solar PV array by controlling the duty ratio of
a DC-DC boost converter. The DC bus voltage is maintained by the controlling the
motor speed. This regulation helps in reduction of motor losses because of
reduction in motor currents at higher voltage for same power injection. To control
the duty ratio, an incremental conductance (INC) based maximum power point
tracking (MPPT) control technique is utilized. A scalar controlled voltage source
inverter (VSI) serves the purpose of operating an IMD. The stator frequency
reference of IMD is generated by the proposed control scheme. The proposed
system is modeled and its performance is simulated in detail. The scalar control
eliminates the requirement of speed sensor/encoder. Precisely, the need of motor
current sensor is also eliminated. Moreover, the dynamics are improved by an
additional speed feed forward term in the control scheme.
• EXISTING SYSTEM
• Fuzzy-logic-based V/f control of the induction motor
is proposed for the speed sensor less power-leveling
system. Only two sensors, including one dc voltage
sensor and one dc current sensor, are utilized. The
flywheel is composed of two modes, namely, the
speed picking-up control mode and the power
control mode. According to the dc-link average
current of an inverter, the rotating speed of the
flywheel in the speed picking-up control mode is
detected by regulating the output frequency and the
output voltage based on fuzzy logic control. The
power control mode consists of the outer voltage
loop and the inner current loop.
DISADVANTAGE:
• sensors are required
• current stress is present
• effectiveness is less due to speed reference
• PROPOSED SYSTEM
• VSI is used to provide pulse width Modulated
voltage input to the motor and pump
assembly. The power from a PV array is
regulated using an incremental conductance
method to attain its maximum value with
available radiation. The V/f control is used to
give reference speed to IMD.
ADVANTAGE:
• No sensors are required
• Reduce stress
• More efficient
Software Requirements:
• Matlab 2015b

Hardware requirements:
• PIC controller
• Switches
• Pv panel with battery
• Induction motor
Ideas:
When solar panel are exposed to sunlight they generate electrical energy(DC).This
generated electricity can be readily used or can be pumped into main utility grid(after
inversion). We use drive circuits in this solar system.
solutions:
This system directly uses the generated energy and it is effectively used .
The drive circuit used to control the other electrical circuits. The batteries are not used in
this so the cost is reduced.

Brief Description:
Existing pumps in the farms land are not available to deliever at potential because of
discontinuity of electric supply presently available solar water pumps usually run with DC
and are different from common sub mercible pump this proposal is to make pump with
solar energy without use of batteries

4. Single phase inverter
5. Ac motor
Usercase diagram:

How to execute:
The sun rays directly falls on the solar panel and it generates a light energy. The
light energy is converted into electrical energy by the circuit. The dc-dc converter is
used to maintain a constant dc voltage. The drive circuit is used to control the entire
circuit and the inverter is used to convert the dc to ac. The pump is run by the ac
power.
Dependencies:
 Pv panel
 Drive circuits
Shows stopper:
In recent days we use battery for the storage but in this proposed system the
batteries are not used. This is used for the irrigation purpose , the low rating motors
are used
