INTRODUCTION

• Global Distribution System work together to exchange


for linking the buyer and sellers of tourism services.

• At later period of 1980s Central Reservation System


completes it development and it goes through the
development, merge and recombination, improves its
functions and evolves into GDS.
• Most famous GDS are
 Amadeus
 Sabre
 Worldspan
 Galileo
Is a network operated by a company that enables automated
transactions between third parties and booking agents in
order to provide travel related service to customers.
• GDS refers back to the reservation instrument journey
sellers use when making an Air, Lodge, Auto or any
other journey service bookings.
• it is the mature system of Central Reservation
System(CRS) which has been playing an important role
in tourism sectors.
• Through GDS, tourism organizations all over the world
can obtain plenty of travel associated information's
from Airlines, Hotels, Car rental companies and Tour
companies

• Back office Integration
• Request from agencies is relayed via GDS to airlines
which sends a message back
• Request is channeled through GDS, direct into airlines
own system and seat allocated at end of transaction.

GDS.
