city of Anyang.His kingdom was divided
into different territories that were ruled
by aristocratic warlords(military
leaders). Although they were leaders of
their land the King had the power to
add and remove them whenever he
chooses. The Chinese believed in
supernatural forces so that they could
talk to the Gods and receive help when
needed.

XIA DYNASTY
• The xia dynasty is known to be very first Chinese
dynasty.
• It lasted 500 years.
• Zia dynasty - 2200 to 1800 BC no historical
evidence was found.It was ruled by a legendary
leader called king Yu.Designed flood control,
irrigation projectsThis led to population increase,
cities emerging
• According to mythology, the dynasty ended
around 1600BC as the consequences of the battle
of Mingtiao.
SHANG DYNASTY
• Shang dynasty- 1650 -1027 BCE 1.In northern
china, with the shnag kingdaom Chinese
civilization begins to take shape.

Sea, beyond the yellow river.

• 4.First dynasty to leave behind written records and
solid archaeological evidence.
