What We Will Learn:

This week we will continue our work with this unit’s Essential Question - “Why is the
past important? Our phonics skill for the week will be “bossy r” as it affects the
vowel “o”, or /or/.

We will be starting our new Module in math, Module 4. This module will focus on
place value, comparison, and addition/subtraction to 40. We will be continuing
our work in Writer’s Workshop, where we will be writing reviews of various things,
such as collections, restaurants, and movies.

Homework:
Monday: Home Reading and Module 4 Lesson 1 p. 5-6
Tuesday: Home Reading and Module 4 Lesson 2 p. 9-10
Wednesday: Home Reading and Module 4 Lesson 3 p. 13-14
Thursday: Home Reading only*
Friday: Home Reading
Because of our field trip on Thursday, I will be teaching Lesson 4 on
Friday, but the homework is not required. If your child would like the
extra practice, have them do Lesson 4 p. 17-18 over the weekend.

We will be leaving Tierra Linda at
9:30 on the 28th. We will be watching
a show from 10:30 – 11:15 and then
have until noon to tour the zoo.
Students will need to bring both a
snack and a lunch that day. We will
not be on campus to buy hot
breakfast or lunch.
