ACTIVITY – BLIND TASTE TEST

INTRODUCTION

 The Blind Test activity was


conducted for testing whether
one could taste the difference
between different chocolate
brands.

 To check and determine if one


could recall the brand of the
chocolates they tasted.

 Three brands of milk chocolates


were chosen to carry out the
blind test.

 Total sample size taken = 25

METHODOLOGY

1. We setup a table with our chocolate samples in three different bowls.


2. We then verbally told them exactly what they were going to do.
3. “With your eyes closed you are to:
4. 1) Eat the piece of chocolate from Cup 1.
5. *note* (the amount in each sampler’s cup was exact)
6. 3) Eat the piece of chocolate from Cup 2.
7. 4) Eat the piece from Cup 3
8. 4) Tell us which piece you liked the most?, can you recall the brand of each
piece eaten ?, or if you do not believe there is a difference/can’t tell.

9. The samplers then did the sampling and we recorded our data in our data
table.

2. Do you like chocolate ?
3. Have you eaten the chocolate sample before?
4. What did you like the most in your chocolate after tasting ?
5. Rate on Taste on a scale of 1-5
6. Rate on texture on a scale of 1-5
7. Rate on smoothness on a scale of 1-5
8. Rate on sweetness on a scale of 1-5
9. Do you recall the brand of the chocolate you tasted ?
10. Would you like to have it again?

INSIGHTS GATHERED

 Confusion between Cadbury Dairy milk & Silk.

 No brand recall for Amul and Nestle.

 For some, price factor played a major role

 Only few people chose different brands over Cadbury

 Most of the respondents had a high ad recall for Cadbury Dairy


Milk.

 Amul milk chocolate found to be a dry textured chocolate.

 Due to less availability and distribution issues, Amul ,


as a brand for chocolate , fails.
