“Process of dispersing liquid medication into
microscopic particles and delivering into lungs as

Respiratory tract consist of nose , pharynx, larynx, trachea,
bronchi and lungs.

Nurse should not come to close to patient face to avoid


droplet infection.

Provide sputum mug to the patient .


Durgs that act upon the mucous membrane.

The opiates deprss the respiratory centre and slows the


respiration.

Expectorants, demulcents and antiseptics ac on the mucous


Membrane.
Assure and make the patient comfortable when anxious.

Explain the procedure to the patient, so that he can


inhale the fumes properly.

Visit the patient often to know the progress.

Monitor heart rate before and after the treatment for patient
using bronchodilator.

Add the prescribed amount of medication and saline water /


Normal saline 1:3 ratio .

Place the mask on patients face to cover his mouth and nose

Inhale deeply through mouth , hold breath and exhale.

Observe expansion of chest.

Instruct to breath slowly and deeply until all the medication is


nebulized
On completion tell the patient to cough after taking
several breath.

 check for any adverse reaction .
