About Udayan Care

Udayan care is an NGO started in 1994 by Dr. (Mrs.) Kiran Modi.

Headquartered in Delhi, the organization is working towards regenerating the lives of the
disadvantaged children and women.
They are committed to their aim of sustainable social development through various
programs that include:
Udayan Ghar:
Shelter homes based on the Group Foster Care model developed by the
organization with the sole aim of providing a family like environment for
orphaned, abused kids so as to promote social integration, brotherhood
and providing the best possible education .
Each Udayan Ghar is run by lifetime a volunteer mentor parent, the home
on an average has about 15 children. Ghars are located in popular
neighborhoods and children attend private, English medium schools, and
participate in vocational training and mental health programs.
At present they have twelve homes in and around Delhi/NCR.
Udayan Shalini Fellowship:
. Udayan Shalini Fellowship began in 2002 with the North Delhi chapter
and 72 girls.
. Since 2002, they have generated dynamic change in the lives of
about 6000 girls. At present, we have 4000 Fellows and 15 thriving
chapters in 10 states.
. A distinctive higher education and vocational training scholarship,
that works towards the transformation of disadvantaged girls into
educated, independent and confident citizens like 22 year old Smita
Verma who moved her family out of a one tenement flat in the
congested bylanes of Old Delhi’s Chandi Chowk to an independent
house in a decent location.
Objective

 To get the contact information of the Department Heads and Placement

Cell of the Universities
Information Updated

 Name , Email ID’S and Mobile number of the Deans and Placement Cell
Incharge of each department of the Universities in Delhi NCR.
Plan of Action

 while working I gathered contact information I was asked to acquire of

the deans and placement incharges of 60 different Universities / colleges
in Delhi NCR.
 Out of the 60 Universities / colleges - 10 are from Gurugram, 30 are from
Delhi , 8 are from Noida and rest of them are from Sonipat.
Limitations

 It was difficult to gather information online as many universities did not share contact
information of their Deans and placement cell Incharges.
 Many colleges didn’t pick my calls and some of them even refused to share their contact
details.
Experience

 Learned how to manage time better

 Learned a lot about team work.
 Got to learn a lot from the NGO Staff that how they work in such discipline
and are so dedicated towards their work.
