Main Characters played:-
• Aishwarya Rai as Kiranjit Ahluwalia.

• Naveen Andrews as Deepak Ahluwalia.

• Miranda Richardson as Ronnie.

• Nandita Das as Lawyer.

Provoked is about:-
• Based on a true story, Provoked would be a truly
compelling tale of domestic abuse if it weren’t told in a
manner more worthy of a direct to video production than
a theatrical feature film. Bollywood’s reigning queen
Aishwarya Rai delivers a solid performance in this tear-
jerky drama.Provoked answers the complicated question
of domestic disharmony with a deft and direct approach
to the question of a woman's place in the man's scream
of things.

• The intermittent flashbacks showing Kiranjit's spousal

nightmare, cut deep and hard into the narrative.
Getting Married.
• Mr & Mrs.Ahluwalia
are punjabi couple.

• After getting married

they migrate from
India(punjab) to
London.
Relation between Deepak & Kiran:-
• Disputes, Conflicts
starts in their relation.

• Threatining is the sub

plot in the movie.
Setting on fire.
• Kiranjit Ahluwalia is found
sitting in a near catatonic state
clutching her two children
outside her home on the
evening her husband Deepak
Ahluwalia is horribly burnt in a
fire.
• An investigation into the
circumstances surrounding the
fire in Kiranjit and Deepak’s
bedroom leads the police into
placing Kiranjit into custody for
deliberately setting her
husband on fire.
Can’t claim her self-defence.
• Kiranjit’s fingerprints on
the gas can seal the deal.
Even though it’s obvious
she’s been abused, she
can’t claim what she did
was in self defense
because of the timing of
the fire and the fact her
husband was sound
asleep at the time.
Meeting with Lawyer
• Although her lawyer
and other activists
attempt to save her
from jail, Kiranjit is
ultimately convicted of
murder and slammed
with a life sentence.
Helpless Kiran.
• Kiran’s mother in law
didn’t allow kiran to
meet her son’s.

• And not even allows

them to talk.
Overturn of her conviction.
• A series of flashbacks fills
in the evolution of her
marriage and of the
abuse she suffered at
Deepak’s hands. As
Kiranjit begins opening up
to her cellmate Ronnie
and others working on
helping overturn her
conviction, it’s very
obvious the experience of
being in jail has -
strangely enough - had a
positive effect on her
attitude.
Study’s in cell
Free from Deepak’s control, Kiranjit learns to speak for
herself and to stand up for what she believes.
Finally,
• Her mother in law
realized the mistake
of her son.
• She accepts her.
• And she lived happily
with her mother in law
and her children.
