    Bishop's scoring system is used to assess cervical dilation, effacement, consistency, position and fetal station before labor induction. It assigns scores of 0 to 3 for each of five parameters - cervical dilation, length, consistency, position and station. The total score indicates whether the cervix is favorable (6-13) or unfavorable (0-5) for induction. A score of 6 or higher suggests the cervix is ripe enough for labor to be induced.
