Contract – Agreement/Term of Contract
• The ALS Literacy Volunteer agrees to serve the TARLAC CITY
SCHOOLS DIVISION - ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM
for the number of days in the official school calendar and to perform
other duties assigned by the administrator; and to work cooperatively
with the staff, faculty and administrators of the TARLAC CITY
SCHOOLS DIVISION - ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM.

• The ALS Literacy Volunteer agrees to serve the TARLAC CITY
SCHOOLS DIVISION - shall devote a reasonable amount of out-of-
class time to curriculum-development, to sponsoring ALS student
activities, and to other duties as assigned by the administrator.
• It is further mutually agreed that the TARLAC CITY SCHOOLS
DIVISION - ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM shall offer the
TEACHER a new contract of employment for the ensuing year on or
before December 31, 2018, unless the TARLAC CITY SCHOOLS
DIVISION - ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM gives the ALS
Literacy Volunteer written notice of its intention not to re-employ.

Contract – Agreement/Term of Contract
• The ALS Literacy Volunteer may be suspended or discharged for good
cause as shall be determined in the exclusive discretion of the
administrator of TARLAC CITY SCHOOLS DIVISION - ALTERNATIVE
LEARNING SYSTEM. It is specifically understood that good cause for
discharge shall include but not be limited to: inadequacy of teaching,
misconduct, neglect of duty, physical or mental incapacity, actions
involving moral turpitude, violation of the terms of this agreement, or
conduct tending to reflect discredit upon the school or tending to
impair the ALS Literacy Volunteer usefulness in his capacity as a
teacher.

Contract – Agreement/Term of Contract
• The TARLAC CITY SCHOOLS DIVISION - ALTERNATIVE
LEARNING SYSTEM accommodate the ALS Literacy
Volunteer as an employee of the TARLAC CITY SCHOOLS
DIVISION - ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM at a voluntary
basis.
• In lieu of the voluntary basis, service rendered by the ALS “The ultimate driving machine.”
Literacy Volunteer shall be credited in their application to
any teaching position in Tarlac City Schools Division or in any
related work.
• It is agreed that the conditions of this contract shall only be
changed by mutual written agreement of the ALS Literacy
Volunteer and the TARLAC CITY SCHOOLS DIVISION -
ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM. This is the sole
agreement between the parties and no other
representations, be they oral or written, are binding
between the parties TARLAC CITY SCHOOLS DIVISION -
ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM law shall govern this “Impossible is Nothing”
agreement in its performance and interpretation.

potential learners and organizes learning groups
for Basic Literacy Program and Accreditation

2. Conduct of Learning Sessions at the
Community Learning Centers
 Organize a learning group composed of fifty
(50) learners or more.
 Determine learning needs of learners.
 Conduct learning sessions using ALS learning
modules and supplementary materials for at
least ten (10) months in a year.

Devise plans and implements
them in order to sustain gains
of learners from the ALS
programs.

Conduct home visits, individual
tutorials, counseling and other
need-driven activities in an
effort to retain and win the
learners back to the literacy

3. Progress Reporting
 Submit a quarterly report to the PSDS
through the DALSC copy furnished DO, RO,
and BALS on the learner’s performance
and activities conducted.
 Participate in the learning action cells
meetings coordinated by the DALSC.

Flow of ALS Program
First step
• Literacy Mapping
-is a process that aims to gather data on the
number of out of school youth and adults (OSYA) in
your community “Keep Walking”
-involves going house to house, and surveying
youth and adults who have not completed 12 years of
basic education as mandated by the Philippine
Constitution
- Target learners 16 years old above ( Secondary ) &
16 years ols below ( Elementary )
• Accomplished AF1 – Masterlist of Mapped and
Potential Learners

• Introduce yourself, your role, where you are
based and your purpose, coordinate with the
nearest school and barangay
• Wear ID
• Ask if there is anyone who lives in the
household that is not currently there at your
time of visitation
• Consider what time of day is the best to
survey your community

Third step – Learning Process Intervention
• Mode of Teaching
* Face to face – refers to
the interaction between the teacher and the
students, and among the students themselves in the “Ideas for Life”
traditional classroom setting.
* Modular - instruction which is either partly
or entirely based on modules.
* Independent - a method and a philosophy
of education whereby a learner acquires knowledge
by his or her own efforts and develops the ability for
enquiry and critical evaluation.

Fourth Step– Assessment of learning
• Formative
*monitor student learning and to provide
feedback, which can be used to improve teaching
and by students to improve their learning.
*Quizzes, Weekly Test, Quiz and Exercises
• Summative
*evaluate student learning at the end of
an instructional program.
* Accreditation and Equivalency Test (A&E)
- is a paper and pencil test
designed to measure the competencies of those
who have neither attended nor finished
elementary or secondary education in the formal
school system.
