This document provides instructions for writing a MATLAB program to calculate inductance and reactance per km for different types of overhead transmission lines:
1) Single phase line with 1.213 cm conductors spaced 1.25 m apart.
2) Three phase line with equilateral triangle configuration and 1.63 cm conductors spaced 3 m apart.
3) Bundled conductors with 4 sub-conductors in a 25 cm square and 1.573 cm radius.
4) Three phase line with horizontal spacing of 6 m between conductors and 12 m between outer conductors, and 1.81 cm radius conductors.
5) Three phase double circuit line with vertical configuration shown in figure, 0

Dr M.Kowsalya Write a MATLAB programming to find the inductance and reactance per km of the following overhead transmission line (a) Single phase Transmission line (b) Three phase symmetrical spacing (c) Three phase Asymmetrical spacing (d) Double circuit transmission Line (e) Bundled Conductors • Find the loop inductance and reactance per km of a single phase overhead line consisting of conductors , each 1.213 cm diameter. The spacing between the conductors is 1.25 metres and frequency is 50 Hz [L =1.115710-6H] • A three phase transmission line has its conductors at the corners of an equilateral triangle with side 3m. The diameter of each conductor is 1.63cm. Find the inductance per phase per kilometre of the line. [L= 1.2317 10-6H] • A bundled conductors ha 4 conductors per bundle . The four sub conductors are placed at the corners of a square of side 25 cm. The radius of each sub conductor is 1.573cm. Find the geometric mean radius of this configuration.[13.654 m] • A three phase transmission line has horizontal configuration with spacing 6m between the adjacent conductors and 12m between the outer conductors. The radius of each conductor is 1.81cm. Find the inductance per phase per km of the line • A three phase double circuit line has vertical configuration shown in fig. Radius each conductor is 0.75cm . The horizontal distance h is 5m and vertical distance D is 2.5 m . Find the inductance per phase per km of the line
