Singular Nouns

Plural Nouns
How to change singular
nouns to plural nouns?
•A singular noun ending
in s, x, z, ch, sh makes
the plural by adding-es.

Rule #1
• rich – riches
• swish – swishes
• bus – buses
• wax– waxes
• quartz – quartzes

Examples
•A singular noun ends
in y. Change y to i and
add -es.

Rule #2
•Baby – babies
•City – cities
•Lady – ladies
•Daisy – daisies

Examples
•If the singular noun does not end
with s, x, z, ch, sh and y add –s
•If it also ends with a vowel add-s
