SYMPTOM
DIAGNOSIS
1. CLINIC:
• acute abdominal pain
• nausea and vomiting
• abdominal distension
2. LABORATORY DIAGNOSIS:
• Amylase and lipase: pancreatic enzymes >3 times of its nominal value
3. DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING:
• Axial computed tomography with contrast
• Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancretography
PREVENTION
Avoid consumption of alcohol and highly spiced foods.
Eat a balanced diet.
Avoid eating too many fatty foods with a high cholesterol content.
Keep a healthy weight.
Physical activity for at least 30 min daily or interdiaries.
TREATMENT
I. Analgesics against pain (buscapina)
II. IV solutions and colloids to conserve intravascular volume normal
III. Absolute fasting.
