Background
 In learning process, sometimes there is boredom, lack
of motivation or flatness that can weakens the
concentration even the understanding of the learner.
Icebreaker exists as one of tools that might solves the
problems.
Previous Study

 The study will contribute as an additional knowledge
or information abou Icebreaker in English Learning
Process and also as a reference for the reader.
Aim of the Study
 To gain knowledge or information based Micro
Teaching on Student-Teachers opinion toward
Icebreaker to motivate learner.
RESEARCH QUESTION
 What are Micro Teaching Sudent-Teachers opinion
toward Icebreaker to motivate learners?
Literature Review
Dover (2004) states that icebreaker is kind of activity
which is help learner to ease and relaxing with the
learning atmosphere. Similar with Dover, Draves
(1997) thought that Icebreakers are technique that
is used at the start of the learning process, to
lessen the anxiety of the learner so that they are
ready to involve in the learning process.
Methodology
Intrument of data:
 Questionnaire
 Interview
Context of Study
 15 Micro Teaching Class Student-Teachers of Satya
Wacana Christian University.
Data Collection
 First, I will distribute questionnaires to fifty students
of English Department who have taken Micro
Teaching Class in previous semester. Then, after I have
analyzed the questionnaire, I will look for fifteen
students to be interviewed based on my questionnaire
analysis result. Next, I will analyze the data from the
interview result.
Data Analysis
 The questionnaire will be analyzed and the interview
result will be transcribed. Then, the questionnaire and
interview result will be divided into their
classification. There are will be three classifications.
First, the interviewees who agree, support, or have
positive sight toward icebreaker. Second, interviewees
who do not support, have negative sight about
icebreaker. Third, will be neutral opinion. Next, I will
describe the finding before I conclude or summarize
it.
