This document presents a proposed automated control system for air pollution detection in vehicles. The system aims to monitor and control vehicle pollutants through three levels. At the first level, a warning message is displayed if pollution thresholds are reached. At the second level, an alert is displayed to stop the vehicle if pollution increases further. At the third level, a buzzer sounds, the vehicle stops gradually, and the location is sent to authorities for fines if alerts are neglected. The system will use a microcontroller, sensors, displays, and other hardware to monitor pollutants and control the vehicle. References on vehicle emissions and pollution detection are provided.

(Assistant Professor) Name : P. Sai Lavanya Roll no:15951A04F6 OBJECTIVE • The main objective of this project is “To prevent, control and abate pollution of air , to protect the environment from any degradation by effective monitoring and implementation of pollution control legislations”. • The aim of the project is to monitor and control the pollutants in the vehicle by using the pollution control circuit. EXISTING METHOD • The main pollutions from vehicles are the oxides of carbon and nitrogen , which can be easily detected these days with the help of semiconductor gas sensors . The existing system has a pollution detection and indicates the vehicles using gps and sends message to RTA about that particular vehicle. PROPOSED METHOD • In this project I am introducing 3 levels, at first level user is given a warning by displaying a message on LED screen if the threshold level has been reached to the predefined value which is included in the code . • In the second level if the pollution level has been increased beyond the predefined value a alert message is displayed informing to stop the vehicle and to check its condition. • In case if the user neglects the alert message then it goes to the third level where the beep sound is heard through the buzzer and vehicle is stopped after some time gradually, according to the code written, at the same time the location of the vehicle is tracked and a message is sent to RTA office intimating to fine the Chelan and to seal the vehicle. BLOCK DIAGRAM SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS • Microcontroller IDE (For Writing the Code) . • Programmer Application (For Dumping the Code). • Simulation Software. HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS • ARM/Microcontroller. • Power Supply Unit. • Motor Driver. • Gsm and Gps. • DC Motors. • Gas sensor. REFERENCES [1]http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Bharat_Stage_emission_standards.
