What is Bluetooth?

• is a wireless technology standard for exchanging data between fixed

and mobile devices over short distances using short-
wavelength UHF radio waves in the industrial, scientific and medical
radio bands, from 2.400 to 2.485 GHz, and building personal area
networks (PANs).
• Develop by Bluetooth Special Interest Group , founded on
September 1998 in Kirkland, Washington
• It was originally conceived as a wireless alternative to RS-232 data
cables.
History of Bluetooth
• Bluetooth is named after Viking king
Herald Bluetooth
• Bluetooth Logo is made from bind rune
of Hagall and Bjarkan.
• First Introduced : 20 of May 1998
• Invented by Dutch electrical
engineer Jaap Haartsen in 1994
• The first Bluetooth mobile phone was
the Sony Ericsson T36
Importance of Bluetooth
• Most of technologies uses Bluetooth

• You can make your cellphone, laptop , PDA , and car stereo
communicate to each other with Bluetooth wireless technology
• can perform file transfer or even synchronization on your laptop ,
and you can choose to send the file or to browse your device easy
and quickly

The radios and TV broadcasts can be sent over many miles or
kilometers, and Bluetooth technology sends the information within
your Personal Area Network or “PAN” ( aka your own personal space
) at the distances up to 100 meters ( 328 feet ) — depending upon
the device implementation.
Bluetooth 4.0 vs 5.0

4.0 5.0
• 2.1mbps Bandwith • 5Mbps Bandwith
• 10m indoor / 50 outdoor • 40 indoor / 200m outdoor
Devices Using 5.0 Bluetooth

Phantom Keyless Home Entry

Thanks to Bluetooth, the system automatically
recognizes your phone when you're within
range and unlocks the door for you -- you
don't need to fire up an app, push any buttons
or even pull your phone out of your pocket.
When you close the door, it automatically
locks behind you, so you won't have to worry
about forgetting to lock up.
Devices Using 5.0 Bluetooth

Voice Controlled Devices ( smart speaker)

is a type of wireless speaker and voice command device with an
integrated virtual assistant that offers interactive actions and hands-
free activation with the help of one "hot word" (or several "hot
words"). Some smart speakers can also act as a smart device that
utilizes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other wireless protocol standards to
extend usage beyond audio playback, such as to control home
automation devices. This can include, but is not be limited to,
features such as compatibility across a number of services and
platforms, peer-to-peer connection through mesh networking,
virtual assistants, and others

Bluetooth GPS Navigators

For some people, the days of maps are
dwindling as GPS navigators pop up on
dashboards all over the place. These
virtual landscapes display the directions to
guide you to your destination, but some
GPS systems can do a whole lot more.

Wireless Audio
The delivery of real-time audio through a
wireless connection is now routine and
convenient. Bluetooth technology enables
reliable point-to-point audio streaming from a
PC or mobile device to a range of light-weight
wireless devices--- such as ear buds, headsets,
speakers, hearables, media stream adapters,
and more.

Smart Watches
a wearable computer in the form of a wristwatch;
modern smartwatches provide a
local touchscreen interface for daily use, while an
associated smartphone app provides for
management and telemetry (such as long-term
biomonitoring). While early models could perform
basic tasks, such as calculations, digital time
telling, translations, and game-playing
