INTRODUCTION

 Performance art are a form of art in which artists use their voices, bodies or inanimate objects to
convey artistic expression.
 present in all human cultures
 Performance can be in purpose built buildings, on open air stages at festivals, on stages in tents and
on the street.
 a form of entertainment
 aim to express one’s emotions and feelings
EXAMPLE OF PERFORMANCE ART

1. Dance
• Dance is the art of movement of the body, usually rhythmically and to music, using
prescribed or improvised steps and gestures.
2. Music
• Music is an art form whose medium is sound .
3. Opera
• Opera is an art form in which singers and musicians perform a dramatic work
combining text and musical score, usually in a theatrical setting.
4. Puppetry
• Puppetry is an art form of theater or performance that involves the manipulation of
puppets.
