INTRODUCTION
I. Nikola Tesla’s vision was to wirelessly distribute power
over large distances.

I. Most approaches to wireless power transfer use an

electromagnetic (EM) field of some frequency as the
means by which the energy is sent.

II. Between the transmitter and receiver can block the beam,
interrupting the power transmission and, depending on
the power level, possibly causing harm.

III. Efficient transmission over large distances is possible.

METHODOLOGY
MICRO-WAVE BASED WIRELESS
POWER TRANSMISSION
MICRO-WAVE
1. This method achieves longer ranges, often multiple
kilometer ranges, where the distance can reach
several thousand kilometers.
2. The transmitting part includes a microwave source,
supplied with DC power, and a transmitting
Antenna.
3. For converting the Electrical Power in to the
microwave signal we need to convert the AC signal
in to the DC signal then the DC signal is converted
into AC signal at receiver side.
ADVANTAGES
 There will be no transmission and distribution loss.

 The power failure due to short circuit and fault on

cables would never exist in the transmission.

 Power theft would be not possible at all.

 System would reduce the cost of electrical energy

used the consumer.
DISADVANTAGES

 Capital cost for practical implementation of

wireless power transmission to be very high.

 Common belif fear, the effect of microwave

radiation.
CONCLUSION

The wireless transmission of electric power is now

possible. The electrical energy can be transmitted from
the source to the load without application of messy
cables, different techniques of the WPT system,
demonstrate the WPT is one of the promising
technologies and may be the best alternative for
efficient power transmission.
