Home
For
Homeless and helpless

7|Page
INTRODUCTION:

Home for homeless and helpless is a place for those who do not have
anyone to take care of , there are many homeless and helpless people
who include children , old people , handicaps , mentally retarded etc.

ORPHANS:

Technically speaking the term ‘orphan’ classifies those children who

have bereaved of either or both of their parents ; but the term
embodies a much wider implication than what the dictionary suggests
and the common man understand.these children are robbed of the
very happiness effects aside ; there is an enorouse resultant socio-
economic problem, the roots of which perhaps lie in the very structural
setup of our society.

ORPHANAGE :

• A residencial place for new born , under privileged and dying

destitute.
• A place where every child will receive the motherhood love , care
and responsibilities .
• established mainly to raise voice for the children .
• To provide children all the basic amenities needed in life

OLD PEOPLE :

• While becoming old is a natural phenomenon , the problems

associated with it are also invitable . It is at this stag of life that
one needs housing , healthcare and financial care more than ever.
• The loving care that they can get in a family environment
contributes to their good health and emotional well being , but in a
society , which is always going somewhere , there is no time for it
to stop and cater to the needs of the elderly people.
• It is in such a context then that the aspect of senior housing crops
up and old age homes come into the picture . Althought this is an
aspect that has not been widely rampant in india , of late it has
been coming in for a lot of attention.

MENTALLY RETARDED :

Mental retardation is defined as sub average general intellectual functioning

that originates during the development period (prenatal to 16 years ) and is
associated with impairment in adaptive behavior.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES:

• To provide a real and loving home for needy children.

• To up bring orphans , destitute , deprived , street and slum children.
• To teach them good moral values of life
• To provide them qualitative education
• To provide the living environment to the people who are no longer able to
live in their own houses.
• To maintain the home within community , not segregated from the
community
• To provide psychological support to keep them happy and contented in this
stage of life .

NEED OF THE PROJECT:

• Today we come across that most of these children are neglected by the
society never wanted to give a platform to go ahead in their career. They
always kept beside the other children
• Mentally retarded individuals can often become self –sufficient to some
degree . However , they may require some educational , community , social ,
family and vocational support.
• In the society which is always going somewhere there is no time for it to stop
and cater to the needs of the elderly people.hence Indians are walking up to
the need for specially designed homes for elderly , orphans and mentally
retarded people nothing however will take the place of staying at home with
the family .
• Though the problem is like anocean before us , what we can do is like a drop
of water in an ocean.even if we canchange a few handfuls of such deprived
people in our lifetime , we can give real meaning
