My Field Teaching Experience

Teacher: Sarah Holland

Location: C.B. Thompson Middle School Quinlan ISD

Grade: 6th & 7th

By: Ariel Hernandez

The Classroom.
The classroom was simple and clean, with decorations and
posters about history and the world map. The teacher was in
front of the students teaching using the projector and
Chromebooks. The environment was calm and collective for
the students to be able to learn. The students knew where to
sit and knew where everything was if they needed anything it
was easily accessible.
This classroom was set up with students in mind and to help
with the teachers lessons.
The Teaching.
Mrs. Holland is an amazing teacher who has been teaching for
years now. She has many ideas and knows her students well.
She would help them when they had questions and listen to
the students when they had something to say about the topic.
She had a system that the students knew about and started
working on them as soon as they came into the classroom.
I was blessed to be able to watch and observe an amazing
teacher. She is talented and knows her stuff when it comes to
teaching and students.
A Day In The Classroom.
The students knew to wait at the door until Ms. Holland told them
to enter. The students would come in and sit at their desk. A student
would help pass out papers, and Ms. Holland would start with the
lesson. She would teach and afterwards the students would get into
groups and finish up the classwork. The students would work till the
bell and clean up after themselves. She teaches 6th and 7th grade so
their energy is different but she handled them perfectly. She also
teaches the dance team. And for the students they would get into
formation and work on their dances and help improve others.
Ending My Experience.
Coming to end I gained an amazing amount of information
and a feel for middle school. This time was well spent and
something that I will never forget. I am thankful for an
amazing teacher to observe and excited for the future.
