• Stable femoral neck fractures: moderate evidence – operative


fixation
• Displaced femoral neck fractures: strong evidence –
arthroplasty
• Unipolar vs Bipolar: moderate evidence – similar outcome
• Hemiarthroplasty vs Total hip arthroplasty: moderate
evidence – benefit to total hip arthroplasty in properly
selected patients
• Cemented femoral stems: moderate evidence – preferential
use cemented femoral stems

• Moderate evidence: Practitioner should generally follow a


moderate recommendation but remain alert to new
information and be sensitive to patient preferences

• Strong evidence: Practitioner should follow a strong


recommendation unless a clear and compelling rationale for
an alternative approach is present
