Piramal Glass Private Limited is a global specialist in design, production, and decoration of glass packaging (flaconnage) Piramal
lead the way globally, for glass packaging solutions in businesses such as Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics & Perfumery, and
Specialty Food & Beverage.

PRODUCTS

 COSMETICS & PERFUMERY BUSINESS


The glass containers manufactured in cosmetics & Perfumery are used to fill nail polish, Perfumes, skin care creams,
Foundations, attars, etc. The main raw materials for glass manufacturing are semi snow quartz, soda ash, lime stone
powder.

 PHARMACEUTICAL BUSINESS
The pharmaceutical glass container division manufactures amber bottles, amber and flint vials for liquid oral
formulations, injectable, etc. Products manufactured conform to US, Indian and European pharmacopeia in Type – I,
Type - II and Type – III formulations.

 SPECIALTY FOOD & BEVERAGES BUSINESS


The Specialty Food and Beverage segment provides bottles for wine, liquor and food industry. This segment is
primarily catered by the Sri Lanka and US operations serving global industry bigwigs such as Cadbury Schweppes,
Diageo, Pernod Ricard, UB Group etc.

INTRODUCTION OF STUDY
MEANING AND DEFINITION

Employee engagement is the extent to which employees feel passionate about their jobs, are committed to the
organization, and put discretionary effort into their work.

 Employee engagement is not the same as employee satisfaction.


 Employee engagement does not mean employee happiness.

Employee engagement is best described as the emotional commitment the employee has to the organization and its
goals

IMPORTANCE OF ENGAGEMENT

 Engaged employees will stay with the company, be an advocate of the company and its products and services, and
contribute to bottom line business success.

 They will normally perform better and are more motivated.

 It builds passion, commitment and alignment with the organization’s strategies and goals.

 Increases employees’ trust in the organization.

 Creates a sense of loyalty in a competitive environment.

 A highly engaged employee will consistently deliver beyond expectations.

GALLUP’S EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT SURVEY

Gallup developed its Q12 benchmark specifically to correlate its measure of employee engagement to worker
productivity; customer loyalty and sales growth.
Gallup consultants sifted through hundreds of questions in hundreds of surveys before choosing the twelve questions
with the highest correlations to external measures.
Topics covered include workplace expectations, supervisory relations, even working with a best friend. Each of the 12
questions is rated on a five-point scale and is one of the following four categories:

 Basic Needs – two questions

 Management Support – four questions

 Teamwork – four questions

 Growth – two questions

AIM OF THE STUDY

 To study the overall level of ENGAGEMENT of employees at the PIRAMAL GLASS LTD. Jambusar.
 To examine the various Employee Engagement activities at the PIRAMAL GLASSLTD.
 To check how effective are the Employee Engagement Programs at the PIRAMAL GLASS LTD

PROBLEM OF THE STUDY

 There are various aspects to keep the employees satisfied and motivated. The employee engagement activities and
their level of involvement in it directly affect the employee’s satisfaction
 This research will help everyone understand the activities which are conducted there and also it would be interesting
to see how many employees are actually involved in it.
 There are no. of activities and programs which are conducted for the well being of its employees in PIRAMAL GLASS
LTD.

RESEARCH DESIGN:

SOURCE OF DATA:
There are 2 types of data:
1) Primary data
 Personal investigation , Information from superiors of the organizations,Information from correspondents
 Some data are collected from the with the help of questionnaire also.
2) Secondary Data
Secondary data for this project is collected from books, internet, report, etc.

DATA COLLECTION MTHOD:


 Data collection methods used for this project are survey and observation.
 For doing the survey the questionnaire is used as the tool to collect data.

SAMPLE SIZE:

 Questionnaire is filled by 30 employees of PIRAMAL GLASS LTD.

RESULTS AND FINDINGS

Various Employee Engagement Activities Conducted by the PIRAMAL GLASS LTD, Jambusar, takes great care of its
employees. There are number of activities for employees every month to keep them motivated.

 LIST OF FEW OTHER EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED AT THE COMPANY

1. Employee suggestion systems / quick responses.


2. GM spending time with the employees.
3. Monthly staff awards.
4. Annual staff awards.
5. Weekly notices on the notice boards related to serious business issues for the staff to read.
6. Appointment of emergency management team.
7. Conducting soft skills training program as well as required training programs.
8. Celebration of Festivals.

SUGGESTIONS

 17% of the people who still are not clear about their work, the management should find
such employees and help them understand their work and what exactly is expected out
of them.

 23% of the employees feel that their development is not encouraged, direction and
guidance should be given at right time so as to increase the performance of employees.

 Internal communication among the employees should be increased, by conducting


certain programs among the inter-departments, will help the employee to get more
involvement to the company.

CONCLUSION
 About 93 % of the employees agree with the statement that they are provided the
opportunity to give their best for the given work.

 100% of the employees are given good response about HR department of PIRAMAL
GLASS This clearly shows how good the HR department of PIRAMAL GLASS is, as none of
the employees feels ignored and each every person is taken care of.

 93% of the employees are agree that their co-workers work efficiently while 7 % do not
think the same about their co-workers.

 Piramal glassManagement take care of the different employee engagement activities for
employees benefit and employees satisfaction.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
 The study was purely based on the information given by the employees and there are
chances for gave wrong data.

 I have taken only 30 of employees from Piramal Glass LTD.

 Some employed are illiterate and may not be able to fill up the questionnaire
themselves.

 Employees are very busy in their work so they gave answers very much in the
questionnaire method.

 The time constraints was the main limitation of the study.
