PROJECT TITLE: DESIGN OF A DOUBLE
STOREY UNDERGROUND PARKADE
INTRODUCTION
 . This project is about designing of a double storey car park with high
occupation rate in order to decongest the CBD, maximize the use of the
land, preserving prime real estate, offering convenient and removing
parking structures from the street frontage. Parking quality plays a major
role in the destination of motorists and cyclists
 PROBLEM STATEMENT
 This project was necessitated by the demand of parking lots/spaces in
ranks. Due to this problem public transport is found on every corner of the
city known as “mushika shika “. An underground parkade with high
occupation rate was proposed due to shortage of land for construction
and accessibility to the clients. Parkades are flexible enough to operate
and manage and they also provide safety to vehicles. Vehicles can move
faster and traffic flow of public transport can be easily managed. Crowning
it all the car park makes parking experience unique and very attractive.

 The main objective is to design a double storey underground car park.
 Specific Objectives
 Obtain soil tests
 Conduct a geotechnical analysis of lateral earth pressures.
 Producing structural drawings and detailing.
