NIST Definition of Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access
to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers,
storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released
with minimal management effort or service provider interaction.
This cloud model promotes availability and is composed of:

5 Essential Characteristics 3 Service Models 4 Deployment Models

• Broad network access • SaaS • Public Cloud
• Resource pooling • PaaS • Private Cloud
• Rapid elasticity • IaaS • Community Cloud
• On-demand self-service • Hybrid Cloud
• Measured service

Oracle PaaS

• Oracle PaaS provides a platform for customer applications to be

– Developed
– Run
– Managed
• Complexity of building and maintaining the infrastructure is not
required.
• It provides the networks, servers, storage, operating system
(OS), middleware, database, and other services to host the
customer’s application.

Process Automation - PCS
What is PCS ?
• Stands for Process Cloud service
• Process Cloud Service focuses on empowering the
business and simplifying business automation with
actionable insight and rapid iterations.
• Process cloud works across the enterprise
accommodating dynamic business process. Model Implement
& Analyze
Business Friendly & Administrate

• Versatile enough to be used for different levels, starting

from a high-level process description to a detailed process
flow for implementation
• Simple enough to be understood by business users yet
rich in semantics to be used by developers for
implementation
• Has capabilities to model non-executable elements or Monitor
Collaborate
processes & Manage work
& Optimize

Execution Ready
• Through a combination of graphical and supporting
elements, allows a model to be populated with sufficient
information to generate executable processes.
• Provides a mechanism to generate webforms

API Platform
Oracle API Manager facilitates the creation of APIs that expose functionality of back-end
systems or other services. APIs are published for use by application developers and are
managed and monitored at run time.
Key Features
• API visibility in the cloud: API Platform provides
visibility to APIs through a cloud-based portal
• Protects backend services : API Gateways deployed
on-prem or on any cloud protects backend systems
and services by providing a robust security layer
• Supports on-premise and cloud-based services :
APIs can virtualise both cloud and on-premise
services
Benefits
• Easily expose APIs to internal and external
consumers
• Provides security to protect backend systems
• Rapid and fully automated provisioning
• Secure, highly available with clustering
