Romans 12:4-5 (NLT)
Just as our bodies have many parts and
each part has a special function, 5 so
it is with Christ’s body. We are many
parts of one body, and we all belong to
each other..

4. Helps 9. Poverty
5. Giving 10. Celibacy
Romans 12:4-6 (Message)
In this way we are like the various
4-6

parts of a human body. Each part gets

its meaning from the body as a whole,
not the other way around. The body
we're talking about is Christ's body of
chosen people. Each of us finds our
meaning and function as a part of His
Body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-
off toe we wouldn't amount to much,
would we? So since we find ourselves
fashioned into all these excellently
formed and marvelously functioning
parts in Christ's body, let's just go
ahead and be what we were made to
be, without enviously or pridefully
comparing ourselves with each other, or
trying to be something we aren't.
Administration
Kubernesis - one who pilots a
ship.

Definition: The supernatural ability

of being able to steer a ministry
responsibility.
Administration
Description: The spiritual expression
that supernaturally enables a person
to understand what makes an
organized event or ministry function.
The special ability to supervise – to
plan and execute procedures that
accomplish the goal.
Administration
Results:
1.Causes events or ministries to
become more effective and efficient.
2.Creates peaceful order out of
organizational chaos.
Administration
Results:
3. Able to manage a variety of
responsibilities – people and
projects.
Administration
Cautions:
1.Need to remember that this is a
supernatural expression of the Holy
Spirit and not just natural ability to
plan and execute.
Administration
Cautions:
2. Remember that you might need
to adjust your plans and
procedures in order to
accommodate the leader’s vision.
Administration
Cautions:
3. The relationship with the person
you are working with is more
important than accomplishing the
task at hand.
Administration
Biblical Example:
Exodus 18:17-23 (Message)
Moses' father-in-law said, "This is no way
to go about it. You'll burn out, and the
people right along with you. This is way
too much for you - you can't do this
alone. Now listen to me. Let me tell you
how to do this so that God will be in this
with you. Be there for the people before
God, but let the matters of concern be
presented to God. Your job is to teach
them the rules and instructions, to show
them how to live, what to do. And then
you need to keep a sharp eye out for
competent men — men who fear God,
men of integrity, men who are
incorruptible — and appoint them as
leaders over groups organized by the
thousand, by the hundred, by fifty, and
by ten. They'll be responsible for the
everyday work of judging among the
people. They'll bring the hard cases to
you, but in the routine cases they'll be
the judges. They will share your load and
that will make it easier for you. If you
handle the work this way, you'll have the
strength to carry out whatever God
commands you, and the people in their
settings will flourish also.
Leadership
proistemi – to preside over, to
superintend.
Definition: A supernatural ability to
lead others toward a goal.
Leadership
Description: A supernatural
empowerment by the Holy Spirit
enabling a person to cast vision,
motivate, and direct others to
harmoniously accomplish the
purposes of God.
Leadership
Results:
1.Presents the “big picture” for
others to see.
2.Motivates others to perform to the
best of their abilities and spiritual
gifting.
Leadership
Results:
3. Being intentional in developing
the culture of a ministry that
supports its values.
4. Modeling the culture and values
of an organization or ministry.
Leadership
Results:
5. Taking responsibility to establish
goals that are worthy and
attainable.
Leadership
Cautions:
1.Remember that leadership
effectiveness is related to
establishing trust with followers.
2.Jesus made a distinction between
leadership in the “world” and in the
“kingdom of God.”
Leadership
Cautions:
3. A person doesn’t need a title in
order to function in this Holy
Spirit expression.
Leadership
Biblical Example:
Luke 22:24-27
Then they began to argue among
24

themselves about who would be the

greatest among them. 25Jesus told
them, “In this world the kings and great
men lord it over their people, yet they
are called ‘friends of the people.’ 26 But
among you it will be different. Those
who are the greatest among you
should take the lowest rank, and the
leader should be like a servant.
27
Who is more important, the one
who sits at the table or the one who
serves? The one who sits at the table,
of course. But not here! For I am
among you as one who serves.
Service
diakonia – to aid, relieve, attend,
or to wait on people through
menial duties.
Definition: The supernatural ability
to voluntarily serve in order to get
the job done.
Service
Description: A momentary
empowerment by the Holy Spirit
enabling a person to render service
in the often-thankless mundane
details or labor intensive tasks.
Service
Results:
1. Serves “behind the scenes”
whenever needed to support the
ministries of others.
2. It enables others to do the jobs
they are best gifted to do.
Service
Results:
3. Sees the tangible and practical
things that need to be done and
enjoys doing them.
4. Able to attach spiritual value to
meeting practical needs.
Service
Cautions:
1.Don’t forget the importance of this
gift. Meeting practical needs is a
spiritual function in the Body of
Christ.
Service
Cautions:
2. This person finds it difficult to say
“no” and can easily be taken
advantage of – which can lead to
resentment.
3. Easy to become bitter toward
others that aren’t helping.
Service
Biblical Example:
Romans 16:1-2 (Message)
Be sure to welcome our friend
Phoebe in the way of the Master,
with all the generous hospitality we
Christians are famous for. I heartily
endorse both her and her work.
She's a key representative of the
church at Cenchrea. Help her out in
whatever she asks. She deserves
anything you can do for her. She's
helped many a person, including me.
