Practice Teaching
Course Description
• This course aims to train the student teachers in the
art of teaching their major subject by actual practice in
the classroom under the guidance and supervision of
the cooperating teacher.
• They participate in all phases of a classroom teacher’s
work, such as instructional planning, classroom
management, appraisal of pupil progress, preparation
of class records, and organization of co-curricular
activities.
• This course provides the student teachers
opportunities to apply the principles and strategies of
teaching and evaluation in actual teaching-learning
situations.

Course Pre-requisite/Eligibility

• Students are allowed to take Practice


Teaching course if
o all courses are completed except CMPRE1-EDU.
o 1 course can be simultaneously enrolled except other
practicum courses.

Course Requirements

• Statement of Co-Responsibility
o Upload the accomplished form of Statement of Co-responsibility
with signatures.

• Student Resume
o Submit an accomplished resume of yourself

• Cooperating School
o Submit the Historical Background of your cooperating school in
not less than 500 words.

• Cooperating Teacher Profile/Resume


o Create or acquire your cooperating teacher's resume/profile.

• Student Resume
o Submit an accomplished resume of yourself

• Lesson Plan
o Submit three (3) of your best lesson plan prepared during your
practice teaching.

o Student Teaching Final-Demonstration Panel Evaluations
o Cooperating Teacher's Overall Evaluation of Student Teacher
o Students' Evaluation of Student Teacher
o Student Teacher's Evaluation of Cooperating Teacher
• Daily Student Teacher Journal
o In one(1) MSWord file, submit your daily journal log using the format
below.
• Day #, Date, and Time
• Records of events and things I accomplished
• Lessons learned
• Daily Time Record 300 hours with Signatures

• Critique Teacher Overall Assessment


(70%)
• Supervising Teacher Evaluation and
Narrative Reports (30%)

Reminders
• Always have good grooming and uniform
• Be aware of:
o Deployment schedule and procedures
o Call for meetings by supervising teacher
o Visitation and observation by supervising teacher
• Show punctuality. No allowed absences
• Inform and ask permission from
cooperating teacher for all actions

• Display the appropriate behaviour of a
professional teacher.
• Plan suitably for teaching and learning
activities in class as well as outside class.
• Provide valid assessments for evaluating
students progress as well as other
outcomes of school activities.

administrators, teachers, students, and
other stakeholders in class as well as
outside class.
• Evaluate and reflect own progress.
