OBJECTIVES
• Define what are the different values of the
Filipinos
• Know and understand the cause why the PINOY
employees have this kind of culture or these
negative values
• Enumerate the effects or consequences of these
negative values in their organization
In this topic, our tasks are:

• To look for the effects or consequences of these


negative values in their organization
• To know the reason why the PINOY employees
have these kind of culture
To resolve this, we will find
solution/s subjectively and
realistically to avoid another
conflict/s and
misunderstanding/s.

In other words, there are REASONS why they


do such things…
BAHALA NA ( que sera sera )

• A socio-cultural value in the Philippines, and a


phrasing in Filipino language that is either said as
an expression of fatalistic attitude towards life or as
a determined one in a challenging situation where
things are risky and uncertain.
Why we do this?
1. Laziness
2. Lack of motivation
3. Confidently finish things even in a hectic time
4. Lack of urgency or sense of responsibility
5. Taking risks
What are the consequences?

1. Mountainous works/ work overload/ too many


unfinished tasks
2. Finishing a task is after the deadline/overly due
PAKIKISAMA
• Going along with others as in going
along with the crowd.
Why we do this?

1. Grow socially and fell like a pat of the group


2. Getting to know each other
3. To avoid the negative impressions of the co workers ( KJ )
4. Fear of being rejected by your pees if you take the contrary
stance
What are the consequences?

1. Being swayed to do things you wouldn’t normally


do because you don’t want to upset the dynamics
of the group
2. Close relationships
PALAKASAN SYSTEM ( Padrino
System/sipsipan )
• Value system where one gains favor, promotion or
political appointment through family affiliation (
nepotism ) or friendship ( cronyism ), as opposed one’s
credit.
Why we do this?

• To have work
• For promotion
• To get the employer’s favor
What are the consequences?

1. Gossiping
2. Backstabbing
3. Starting factions or circle of friends
4. Corruption
5. Misinterpretation/misundestanding
MAÑANA HABIT

• It is one of the most negative traits of some people. It


means MAMAYA NA in Filipino or to do a certain thing
in a later time. It is a procrastinate way of doing a thing
or a simple means finding a way to delay a work to be
done.
Why we do this?

• Laziness
• Lack of motivation
What are the consequences?

1. The work or task outcome is not good


2. In a hurry when the deadline is near (panic,
worry too much, overcrowding and not able
to concentrate)
