Why HR Club?
I want to be part of HR club at IMI as it plays a vital role in grooming the overall personality of the student.
It will give me a platform to sharpen my skills and capabilities by conducting various club activities like
quizzes, case study competitions, organizing lecture series by eminent corporates, research paper
presentation, newsletters, debate, extempore etc. as I have a keen interest in HR Domain. It’s the only club
which directly connects with people creating a strong foundation and smooth working of any organization.
During my Graduation days I coordinated and organized various events like Guest Lectures, Workshops,
Seminar’s etc. I was an active student balancing my studies and as well as extracurricular activities securing
an O Grade (Outstanding Performance) and being felicitated with the Principal Appreciation Award for my
performance as well as my contribution made to the institute.
With work comes the responsibility and I can well place myself to being responsible enough in handling
tasks at hand, being flexible enough, adaptable according to the situations, good with handling computers,
strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, decision making skills, able to work under pressure, time
management skills, comfortable in working in teams, meeting new people, managing events, travelling to
new places, leadership skills, proficient in painting (Diploma in Fine Arts) etc. I have a keen interest in
Public relations and creating long term connections.
New Initiatives
Knowing oneself
To break the groups, prejudices, the game of knowing oneself is as perfect as it can get. Make index
cards/name tags of different types of people like ‘Kind’, ‘Lazy’ ‘Grumpy’, ‘Authoritative’ etc. Place these tags
on the back of the person so that they can’t see it but the others can. For some amount of time let the
group mingle and ask each person to guess what their label is by the way other members act towards them.
As each team member figures out who they are, they can exit the game and let the rest continue.
Goodie Bag Skits
Skits are not only entertaining but allow for planning and collaboration among team members. This game
works well for large group of people with around 20-50 participants. They are then divided into teams of 3-8
people and given goodie bag with multiple random items. Each group is given 10-15 minutes to prepare a
skit and perform it under 5 minutes. Topics can be chosen by teams or can be predefined by the facilitator.
Groups perform based on the creative use of items in the bag. Other teams watch the performance and
once all are done performing, winner can be declared based on team voting.
New Initiatives
Balloons
Balloon Questions is the ideal choice in such scenarios. All we need is balloons, paper, and pens/pencils.
Each person is given a balloon and a small strip of paper and ask them to write down a question on the slip
of paper and place it in their balloon, then blow the balloon up and tie it. Once everyone has finished,
instruct the group to hit their balloons into the air, trying to keep all the balloons in the air for as long as
possible. After a few seconds tell everyone to grab any balloon (other than their own) and sit in a circle.
Each person takes a turn popping his/her balloon and then answering the question.
“Rescruption”- i.e. Recruitment can be organized which gives students a brief idea about practical
application of recruitment process. This enables students to learn the ways of designing recruitment
advertisement and techniques to promote their company and position the same in the minds of potential
applicants so that the best person approaches for the employment.
“Mindbiz”-The event mainly consists of three rounds. The first round is an online quiz, second round is a
crossword puzzle and the third round is a surprise event which is a combination of "connect" images,
people etc. All the three rounds were elimination round a team building game.
