WHAT IS FIXTURE ?
 Fixture is a special tool used for
- Locating the work,
- Clamping the work,
- Supporting the work,
- Holding all the element together in a rigid
unit during manufacturing operation.
WELDING FIXTURE
 Robotic welding requires specialized fixtures to accurately hold the work
piece during the welding operation.
These are some part of fixture which are used to make one unit of
fixture (by assembling them into one unit):-
After making a number of units of different fixtures ,they are mounted on a
rigid base as seen below:-
WELDING FIXTURES :-
Cabin of an Eicher truck ,which is welded
using welding fixture.
 For different parts of the
body of a cabin ,
different fixtures are
used.
TYPES OF WELDING USED

 SPOT WELDING –
- Resistance spot welding (RSW) is a process in which
contacting metal surface points are joined by the heat obtained from
resistance to electric current. It is a subset of electric resistance welding.
- Work-pieces are held together under pressure exerted by electrodes.
 MIG WELDING –
- Metal inert gas (MIG) welding, is
a welding process in which an electric arc forms between
consumable wire electrode and the workpiece metals,
which heats the workpiece metals, causing them to melt
and join.
- Along with the wire electrode, a shielding gas feeds
through the welding gun, which shields the process from
contaminants in the air.
