Discussion
• Children's self-perception of their
athletic competence and physical
appearance improved  emphasis on
fun physical activity in the program and
children and parents reported enjoying
the games at Fit Families.

• Children participating in Fit Families

also improved their perception of their
physical appearance, possibly owing to
the promotion of self-acceptance and
diversity of body sizes in the program.

• Depression may inhibit their ability to

make behavior changes.
Discussion
• Menurut Maulana (2009), sikap seseorang dapat
berubah dengan diperolehnya tambahan informasi
tentang objek tertentu, melalui persuasi serta tekanan
dari kelompok sosialnya.
Maulana, Heri D.J. 2009. Promosi Kesehatan. Jakarta: EGC.

• Kobel et.al (2014), keterlibatan orang tua secara aktif

merupakan hal yang sangat penting bagi keberhasilan
intervensi yang diberikan.
Kobel, Susanne, Tamara Wirt, Anja Schreiber, Dorothea Kesztyüs, et al. 2014. Intervention
Effects of a School-Based Health Promotion Programme on Obesity Related Behavioural
Outcomes. Hindawi Publishing Corporation Journal of Obesity, pp.1-8.
Implication
• LIMITATION: using a small
convenience sampling and a
nonrandomized, preexperimental
design.

• STRENGTH : Cooperative Extension

can be a successful partner in
coordinating and delivering a family-
based childhood obesity intervention.
Well connected with community
partners that have the expertise
needed for delivering this type of
program, including dietitians and
school physical education teachers
and school counselors.
