There is also a train available to ride for those who would

like. It is wheelchair accessible.

● All restaurants are wheelchair accessible with many

options including gluten free.
Language
There are always some language barriers when considering a
public place like this. With this being said, there are
flyers in different languages and there are also the
capabilities for a interpreter if needed. The map is in
English, but if you download it on your phone the language
can change.
Cultural
● Almost every culture is seen at the Sedgwick County Zoo.
● All exhibits share the culture as you go to each exhibit.
● Food preferences are also available.
Readability
● Visuals are everywhere at the zoo!
● Everything that has any words has a visual to go with it.
● There is an interactive map available on the phone that
shares things vocally.
Friendly/Inviting Staff
● There is an education department in the zoo that allows
access to several different activities.
● The staff who work this are very accommodating and
willing to help with whatever needs are available.
● Staff here are great and easy to find!
Sensory
● A social story is available in the education department.
● Headphones can be brought.
● Backpacks are available that also have different things
to help in this area.
● Buildings share what kinds of sensory input there will
be.
