Need for the Study
• To integrate a generic metadata repository that
needs to author, collect, manage, and
disseminate metadata for data mining and
analysis for unstructured data in organizations
(OECD, 2013).
• To facilitate impact analysis and data lineage in
large organizations. To eliminate human
intervention in creation of metadata (YouTube,
2014)

Objectives
1. To survey existing literature for state of art in Metadata
Repository, Metadata Registry and Metadata defining standards
2. To design a service for creating, viewing and updating metadata
associated with Knowledge Repositories using UML
3. To develop and test the service for providing metadata based on
different rules and policies using appropriate hardware and
software tools
4. To analyze the scalability and accuracy of the developed
metadata service
5. To write the project report

Objective 1
To survey existing literature for state of art in Metadata
Repository and Metadata Registry, factors to be considered
and applicable metadata standards
1.1 Existing books, papers, open-source projects and technical
articles will be surveyed for state of art in Metadata Repository
and Metadata Registry
1.2 Existing books, papers and technical articles will be surveyed to
identify factors considered for learning in service oriented
Metadata repository
1.3 Existing books, papers and organization standards will be
surveyed for state of art in algorithms that can be applied in
vision based human detection and tracking systems

Objective 2
• To design a vision based human detection and tracking
system using UML
2.1 Based on the identified requirements, a high level design will be
created in UML using UseCase diagram, Sequence and Class
diagrams
2.2 Based on the functions identified in Class diagram, a low level
software design will be created in UML using State chart
diagrams

Objective 3
• To develop and test the human detection and tracking
system using appropriate hardware and software tools
3.1 Based on the developed design, software units will be
developed and tested using Raspberry PI and Python
3.2 Based on the High level design, software components will be
integrated and tested
3.3 Based on the System level design, the system will be integrated
and tested

Objective 4
To analyse the scalability and accuracy of the developed
human detection and tracking system
4.1 The detection accuracy of the system with varying conditions
of light and varying distance will be studied
4.2 The performance degradation of system with increasing
number of people will be studied
