This document describes a proposed biometric fingerprint and NFC secured centralized electronic voting machine. The proposed system uses a microcontroller, fingerprint module, LCD display, NFC reader and tag, and buzzer. Each voter would be given an NFC tag with a unique code that can be read by the NFC reader. Voters would also use their fingerprint for identification. The voting module would display candidates and allow voters to select one, and the vote would be recorded to a database. The goal is to make the voting process faster and more reliable than existing electronic systems.

Voting is a method by which the voters appoint their
representatives. In current voting system whenever a person goes to the polling booth to poll his vote the voter has to show his voter ID card. This process is a time consuming process as the polling officer has to check the voter ID card with the list he has, confirm it as an authorized voter and then allow the voter to poll his vote. Thus, to avoid this kind of problems, we have designed a NFC based biometric voting machine. ABSTRACT
The main objective of this paper is to design and
develop a NFC based electronic voting machine and using fingerprint scanner for authentication for sorting out the wired electronic voting problems. PROPOSED SYSTEM
The design is based on the microcontroller (Nuvoton),
fingerprint module, Liquid Crystal Display (16X2) for displaying the instructions and voter information, fingerprint module for scanning voter’s fingerprint before voting, NFC reader, NFC tag, Buzzer alarm. This electronic voting machine will save time and efforts of human. Thus, the proposed EVM system is more fast and reliable as compared to existing electronic voting system. At the end of the polling, just by pressing the button result can be obtained. BLOCK DIAGRAM DESCRIPTION
Our project also aims to provide NFC and biometric security.
A NFC tag will be provided to each voter. NFC tag has a unique 12 byte code which can be read by NFC reader. A person can also use his fingerprint for unique identification. The Voting Module displays the user the list of various candidates in his constituency. The user can then select the candidate he wishes to vote for. A confirmation is asked for once the user selects a candidate. Once the vote is casted, the vote count for the particular candidate is Updated to the database so as to maintain the record that he has casted a vote.
