Comm systems have developed as civilization has
developed. Technological progress is an inevitable part of
communications.
There are various types of written, oral, telecommunication
and media communication.
These are usually enhanced by the use of technology.
Generally, technology has made communication more
effective (time and cost) and more immediate (audience
reach, immediacy of seeing, hearing etc.)
However, there are many drawbacks.
 The level of technology used in
communication varies\ depends on
1. Level of skill of user
2. Level of complexity of the technology being
used
3. Level of resources available for procurement
i.e. associated cost (financial.)
Therefore:
-As technology develops, one’s skills must develop
in order to utilize technology effectively.
-The type of comm is dependent on the availability
of resources (economic level of the individual,
company, society.)
-Training and retraining is necessary for
technology.
-Even though there are sophisticated forms of
technology, the usefulness of simple forms are
also important.
