Introduction
Since 1995, no poliovirus has been identified as originally
from Indonesia which is in line with the global Polio
Eradication Program (ERAPO).
However, in 2005 -2006 Indonesia experienced an
outbreak of imported Polio, 305 cases, spread in 10
provinces and 47 districts.
The last case reported was February 20, 2006 from Aceh
Tenggara district of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam province.
Since then no new case.

Definisi
Kasus AFP adalah:
Semua anak berusia kurang dari 15 tahun dengan
kelumpuhan yang sifatnya flaccid (layuh), terjadi secara
akut (mendadak), bukan disebabkan oleh ruda paksa
atau

Definisi
Kelumpuhan akut: perkembangan kelumpuhan yang
berlangsung cepat (rapid progressive) antara 1-14 hari
sejak terjadinya gejala awal (rasa nyeri, kesemutan, rasa
tebal/kebas) sampai kelumpuhan maksimal

Introduction
Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) surveillance has been
strengthened tremendously.
Any importation of wild polio virus can be immediately
identified.
The system is sensitive enough to detect wild polio virus
as seen from two main indicators: non polio AFP rate and
specimen adequacy.
Other diseases have been controlled but require more
effort to reduce their occurrence.
