What Does a Dance Photographer Do?

A Dance Photographer is one who takes pictures of dancers for


resumes, shows, advertisements, and to display examples of
the art form. They expertly capture the movement of dancers.
How Much Money Does a Dance Photographer Make?

The average pay for a dance photographer is $45,000 per year.


This all depends on the amount of clients the photographer
receives and the size of the company they work for, if they
don't work independently.
What Would a Typical Work Day Look Like?

Dance photographers can either work for a photo company or for the dance
company itself. If they work for a photo company, they will usually work in a
photo studio where dancers come in and they take pictures of them there. They
may also travel around outside o take interesting pictures in cities or in
nature. When working with a dance company, photographers take pictures of the
dancers during performances for advertising, and to capture the hard work of
the company.

How Much Education is Required?

Usually only a highschool diploma is required to become a dance


photographer. It is also important that the photographer has an
understanding of the art form in order to take visually pleasing
pictures, and come up with ideas for interesting pictures and
photoshoots.
